As a Joint Venture, Rebeka from BuildHer Collective and her husband John, teamed up with seven DevelopHers to create two architecturally different, yet complementary and sustainable homes, by pushing the traditional boundaries associated with property development in Melbourne’s leafy northern suburb of Fairfield.
The South House:
Guided in by a quirky crazy paved path and greeted with two curves as you stand at the entrance you know something special is behind. As you enter in you catch a view of the back garden and the gorgeous textural flooring guides the eye through the home.
As you enter you are greeted with a bench seat in soft and rich leather. The right balance of storage for busy family homes.
Front of the center of the interior design is the marvelous Cote D’Azur by Signorino. The beauty of natural stone combined with a striking marbling effect in a deep vein is what informed the entire design. It was love at first sight.
Overall Vision:
The vision for each home was always to create distinct spaces that would speak to the homebuyers’ sense of identity.
Using clean, fresh, and contemporary lines, a sense of openness, and an abundance of natural light, the look will be softened by materials and finishes reflective of north-side style: sophistication and edginess served with a side of character and personality.
The collaboration model lends itself to a unique opportunity for communal involvement, from planning and funding to design and construction, BuildHer Collective mentoring and guiding each step of the project on this exciting journey
Arming yourself with knowledge and immersing yourself into a community of like-minded women is one thing – but leaping into a Development with 8 women and putting your cash where your passion is another!
BuildHers ability to be able to provide this opportunity to women in our community is so rewarding. There is so much to be gained from having hands on experience in management, design, building, and the sales process. To have responsibilities to help move the project forward and have someone to ask those questions that you might have otherwise been too shy to ask is just one way to maximize your growth.
We congratulate the Buildher8 ladies for jumping up at the chance and staying with us to the end!
