Don’t even hesitate! If you don’t join BuildHer, do whatever is necessary to find your people and community. This is hands down the best thing you can do for yourself — your sanity, your end product, and your problem-solving capacity.
For years we’ve asked: what would you say to someone thinking about joining BuildHer? The answers — from women mid-build, mid-flip, mid-pivot — are below. In their words.
Eleven of our women answer the exact question that gets asked at every coaching call: should I do this?

Joining BuildHer was probably the best thing I’ve done in the last 12 months. It’s helped my confidence, it’s helped my understanding of the market and given me the tools that I need to feel I’m not an imposter in that zone.
I would say go for it! The knowledge you gain really helps to give you the confidence to take that first step. The support from the community of women is worth its weight in gold.
I’ve been a member of BuildHer Collective for more than five years. And I keep being a member because I learn something every time.
You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. If you are new to renovating, an experienced renovator or working in the industry, there is always more to learn — and there is immense satisfaction in supporting others on their journey, plus celebrating success together.
It wasn’t just the course — it was the community. Having access to knowledge, resources, and other women who had been there before made all the difference. I went in knowing what questions to ask.
I joined The Collective to get my head around the building process. Their course and community were fantastic.
Twenty-six of our women answered on camera. Tap any card to watch — uncut, unscripted, in their own words.
Some are mid-renovation. Some have flipped, sold, profited and started again. Some haven’t broken ground yet. They all answered the same question.
Just do it! Amazing course. Have learnt so much, and it’s great to be part of a collective of women all helping each other to build. Priceless.
I can’t thank the BuildHer team enough for what they’ve been able to offer me. I was dreading the idea of building but the course and group has made me excited about the process. If you’re considering the course, you won’t regret it!
I haven’t looked back after joining the BuildHer family almost 3 years ago! Not only do you get invaluable knowledge, skills and support but you join a network of like minded passionate women. I would highly recommend BuildHer Collective!
BuildHer Collective is an absolute game changer. Being a part of this talented group has provided me with so much empowering knowledge and support. I can’t recommend highly enough!
The fortnightly Q+A sessions are like having front row seats with the BuildHer experts! Being able to bounce ideas and share concerns makes the journey less daunting.
BuildHer isn’t just a course — it’s an institution. It’s not just the numbers, the build, the design — it’s learning how much you also don’t know. Starting off in a new field can be tricky and scary, but less when you have experts guiding you.
BuildHer has completely changed my life! I’ve renovated both our rental and our family home, and I never would have had the confidence to tackle these projects without BuildHer.
Our dream has been to renovate for profit as long as I can remember. Meeting the amazing women behind BuildHer Collective was like coming HOME.
It’s helped convert my fear and doubt into excitement and confidence. It’s also made me realise the importance of branding and unique design. Plus understanding what’s gonna stack up and what’s not. It’s all exactly what I wanted to learn.
I’ve learnt A LOT. But mostly it’s changed the way I think about myself and what I think I’m capable of. It’s given me the confidence to believe in my abilities in areas I didn’t think I was good at.
The course, Q&As and Members Facebook Group are invaluable resources to get great advice and have confidence with your decision each step of the way. Most of all, joining The Collective has enabled me to find enjoyment in a process I really was dreading.
I cannot begin to explain how much I have learnt in the DevelopHer course. The course assisted me to figure out my transferrable skills and strengths and has given me a comprehensive overview of how I can make this my career.
It feels so empowering to be a part of this community. The course has taught me so much and the forums and chats have been so valuable. It’s inspiring to see the incredible projects that come out of the group.
We bought a house to knock down & I realised I had no idea where to begin, with no knowledge of the building industry. The course, Q&As, private consultations, Facebook group & friendships have been amazing in supporting me through all aspects of our project.
The BuildHers gave me the confidence to go owner builder on our dream home and I couldn’t be more grateful — most amazing journey with huge support from the BuildHer team!
Having access to an amazing and supportive community has given me the knowledge and confidence to create beautiful houses.
Thank god for BuildHer Collective! Even designers can become overwhelmed and bombard themselves! A calm clear consultation has helped me set my mind at ease and now I am seeing how my dream can become a reality. Pumped with excitement!
BuildHer has been invaluable for advice and support in my first reno… and I found my Builder there — the wonderful Anna Crawford from Crawford Building (she is a BuildHer too!)
I am loving the course. You have inspired me to finally enrol in a Diploma of Interior Design — which I have always wanted to do and thought I never could.
Love the DevelopHer group! Such an amazing community that continuously offers support and guidance.
Just wanted to say thank you to all the amazing and inspiring women I met this weekend on the intensive course. I can’t wait to see your dreams and goals come to life! You have really motivated me to be more purposeful and deliberate in my future property developments.
I love being in a community of amazing women who help each other and are passionate about all things building.
Jodie has been a BuildHer for years — and was a little bit excited to see her completed kitchen on the cover of Kitchens & Bathrooms Quarterly. A real BuildHer moment.
The BuildHer community helped me decide on storage options for our bathroom.
I signed up and since then have not regretted a thing. The time spent in person and online, not to mention the other BuildHers and Developers, has been invaluable. They are the intelligent, intuitive women who love the things that I love.
I met with Rebeka & was blown away by how honest, kind & knowledgeable she was. I joined the Masterclass and it has been an awesome community of likeminded women where I never feel intimidated — instead I thrive on the ideas & the experiences these women share.
I’m constantly so inspired by the talented women in the group, how they grow and what they achieve. All of the self-doubt, late nights and questioning your decisions is worth it when you see the home that you have created.
I feel so privileged to be a part of this amazing group. The support warms my heart & gives me the confidence I so desperately need to believe that I can build my new home.
I joined BuildHer Collective in September last year and not long after found a property in Ormond — a two-bedroom apartment that needed to be fully gutted. I’ve since completed that in a five-month turnaround.
The BuildHer masterclass is the best course I have ever done. It has given me all the knowledge I need to start developing for profit — while also leaving me feeling inspired and empowered to tackle this journey head on.
BuildHer inspired me with a quiet confidence to stick to my guns and progress with my reno — fully armed with knowledge and support whenever I needed it, and incredible discounts once I hit the go button.
I’ve been thinking about how to articulate how I’m feeling about BuildHer. We met with friends on the weekend who recently renovated their forever home — a beautiful old-world home with so much character. The problem is they want to redo the extension, plans already at council awaiting approval, but they aren’t happy with their architect or the plans. It made me really sad.
It also gave me a chance to reflect on how lucky we are to be part of BuildHer — and the knowledge, support and confidence I’ve gained as part of this. Thank you so much for this unique and amazing collective. I just love you guys.
