Who doesn’t LOVE looking at a fabulous bathroom – no one, that’s who! We kick of Module 1 with research and inspo to help us create the ultimate mood board – the reference guide to keep us on track! We might also delve into different styles and trends and start thinking about your existing design considerations as well. Is there a “super-fun materials board challenge” as well – yep – and at end of this module you also get to share it with everyone in our Facebook Group “Women who Design, Decorate, Renovate & Build”.
We’re going to start off talking about whether you’re renovating an old bathroom or building a new one. Dependent on which one, there are a few key considerations.Once we’ve locked that in, we get into the bits and bobs that play a role in your bathroom, circulation space and long term considerations.Just like with kitchens, the layout of your bathroom is KEY to designing a functional and usable space for now and the future.
Once you’ve gained an understanding of your bathroom layout, we’ll talk about “selecting finishes”.We find this part so exciting, but to many people it’s a little overwhelming because there are just so many choices – vanities, tapware, tiles, lighting! In this module we are going to break it down section by section so that you understand all of the options available and can make the right choice for your bathroom design.Once you get your head around it, finishes are fun – trust us!
In Module 4, we’ll guide you through a few more key issues. Have you thought about water saving and recycled water? Do you need special fittings for wheelchair bound or mobility impaired people? Also have a think about the longevity of your bathroom and the maintainence and replacement costs that you may incur in the future. There’s more thinking to be done in this module.
OK, now that you’ve sorted out what style of bathroom you’d like, the layout and fixtures & finishes you’re going to use – how are you going to build it? In this module we’ll take you through all of the options to help you work out what’s the right path for you. We’ll be using Kribashini’s bathroom as an example for this part of the course and we’ll talk about planning and ordering, preparation, the install and finishing it off. When you’re finished, you might even like to document it with some fabulous photos – go on, show it off!
In the last module of our “Beautiful Bathrooms” course, we’ll give you some guidance on how your decisions will shape the cost of your bathroom. Just like kitchens, the cost of a bathroom can go from budget to wow – if only money grew on trees right! At the end of the day, what end of the scale you are at is something that you’ll need to decide for yourself. However, now that you’re armed with ALL of the knowledge, these are decisions that you can make with confidence!
With 24/7 lifetime access to the program, you can jump in and out of these modules as you need to!
Make sure you get your bathroom right the first time!
